HAMFEST COCHIN POEM

HAMFEST COCHIN
The three musketeers of Dhansag net
And Savio who wished to join them yet
Did finally to C.S.T. arrive
In various ways did drive
Alas the train was late
The foursome had to wait
The first to arrive was Savio Athayde
Confused about the bags someone did hide
Chased all the cabs that stood
Angry and swearing, was in a bad mood
The loss was discovered
When the bags were uncovered
Did Savio finally cool down recovered
The American Fox next on the scene did arrive
Took charge of the baggage and did move
To platform No 12 the whole lot did settle
To wait for the Joker and his bottle
The Joker as usual was late
Beads of sweat was on his Pate
Cursing about the train being late
The journey was pleasant
The joker was incandescent
His Birthday was celebrated
Without being inebriated
With chocolate cake and sweets galore
From Sydil's kitchen he cried for more
The joker was relaxed
Cause his brains were not taxed
He kept the crowd entertained
With jokes till they were all drained
Sleep took over
For us it was all over
OM SHANTI OM
The train arrived at Cochin town
The shepherd paced the platform up and down
No reception committee was present here
To greet the musketeers who landed there
The flock was herded to Cochin Towers
To settle in rooms and freshen like flowers
The musketeers then split each one his way
For personnel chores took different cays
The joker and yours truly
With Kishore and family
Landed in Jewish town for spices and cashews
Met with Amit and Yl, brother Raj and hit a ragchew
The purchase done, we returned
To Cochin Towers for our stomachs burned
Savio Athayade opened shop, the room was littered with crap
To ready the S.T. Special which was in parts.
The XCVR assembled, testing began
Savio was really in a can
The dummy load heated
Cause the rig was ill treated
The driver oscillated
To tame the whole set
Was a miracle yet
Yours truly was taxed to get the set going
Used gentle touch and got the RF flowing
Tired and happy we tucked into bed
Alas it was a miserable night we shed
For mosquitoes in large numbers did troop
Into the room the suckers did creep
To feed on blood and disturb our sleep
The morning dawned the musketeers trooped
For registration to the venue approached
The crowd was huge, familiar faces we did see
The registration done we were filled with glee
Breakfast was announced, to the banquet hall we fled
Idli. Dosa sambar and coffee we we were fed
